Applications Of Zirconia Powder

Synthetic Raw Material: Used in the production of metallic zirconium and zirconium compounds, refractory bricks and crucibles, high-frequency ceramics, grinding materials, ceramic pigments, and zirconates. Primarily used in piezoelectric ceramic products, daily-use ceramics, refractory materials, and zirconium bricks, tubes, and crucibles for precious metal smelting. Also used in the production of steel and non-ferrous metals, optical glass, and zirconium dioxide fibers. Additionally used in ceramic pigments, electrostatic coatings, and baking varnishes. In epoxy resins, it can increase resistance to corrosion from hot salt water.

Refractory Materials: Zirconia fiber is a polycrystalline refractory fiber material. Due to the high melting point, non-oxidizing properties, and other excellent high-temperature characteristics of ZrO2, ZrO2 fibers have a higher service temperature than other refractory fiber varieties such as alumina fibers, mullite fibers, and aluminosilicate fibers.

Zirconia fiber can be used for extended periods in ultra-high temperature oxidizing atmospheres above 1500℃, with a maximum service temperature reaching 2200℃, and even up to 2500℃, while maintaining its intact fiber shape. It exhibits high-temperature chemical stability, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, thermal shock resistance, non-volatile nature, and no pollution, making it one of the world's leading refractory fiber materials. ZrO2's resistance to acid and alkali corrosion is significantly stronger than that of SiO2 and Al2O3. It is insoluble in water, soluble in sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, and slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. It can eutectic with alkalis to form zirconates.

Gas Turbines: Plasma-sprayed zirconium dioxide thermal barrier coatings have made significant progress in the application of aerospace and industrial gas turbines, and have been used to a certain extent in the turbine components. Because this coating can reduce the temperature of air-cooled high-temperature components by 50-200℃, it can significantly improve the durability of high-temperature components, or allow for increased gas temperatures or reduced cooling gas requirements while maintaining a constant temperature for high-temperature components, thereby improving engine efficiency. Ceramic Materials Zirconia is used as a raw material in the kiln industry because of its high refractive index, high melting point, and strong corrosion resistance. Piezoelectric ceramic products include filters, loudspeakers, ultrasonic underwater detectors, etc. There are also daily-use ceramics (industrial ceramic glazes), zirconium bricks and zirconium tubes for precious metal smelting, etc. Nanoscale zirconium oxide can also be used as a polishing agent, abrasive, piezoelectric ceramics, precision ceramics, ceramic glazes, and high-temperature pigment matrix material.
